Bill Maloney, Global Chief Technology Officer, Mercer

Bill Maloney is the Chief Technology Officer for the Health Care and Group (H&G) Benefits
practice at Mercer Human Resource Consulting (Mercer). He is a member of the global and US H&G
management teams. He joined Mercer in 1994 from United Health Care where he was a vice president
responsible for information systems for two of United’s divisions. Prior to United, he
worked at Cigna and Control Data Corp (now Ceridian). Mr. Maloney has a bachelor’s degree,
magna cum laude, from the University of Illinois, and an MBA from the Kellogg School at
Northwestern University.

Stephen Ashley has more than 26 years experience in the managed care, healthcare and
accounting industries, Mr. Ashley has built a career developing innovative solutions
throughout the healthcare supply-chain. Mr. Ashley is responsible for providing customers
with a wide range of consulting services, directing UltraLink’s procurement services
and overseeing the account management function. Mr. Ashley has frequently been a speaker on
the healthcare industry and has published numerous industry articles. In addition, he currently
holds the following executive and committee positions with the American Association of Preferred
Provider Organizations (AAPPO): member of the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors,
President of the Pacific Regional Chapter, Chairman of the Rules, Bylaws and Nomination Committee
and member of the Business and Technology Committee. He has also held positions with the
Self-Insured Institute of America (SIIA) as Secretary for the California Chapter and member of
the Technology Committee. Mr. Ashley is a Florida Certified Public Accountant and holds a Bachelor
of Science in Accounting from Florida State University.

Michael R. Costa is a Senior Associate in the Health Business Practice Group of the 1500-member
international law firm of Greenberg, Traurig, LLP and focuses his practice on healthcare and
non-profit corporate matters. As part of his health law practice, Michael counsels various health
care providers regarding contractual, business and regulatory matters. He is a frequent lecturer
before hospitals, medical practice groups and legal associations on both regulatory and
transactional healthcare issues and has published extensively in these areas. Mr. Costa is a 1997
cum laude graduate of Suffolk University Law School where he served as Technical Editor on
the Transnational Law Review and a 1999 magna cum laude graduate of Boston University School of
Public Health where he has a dual concentration in health law and health services management
and administration.

Susan Isernhagen, PT, and C.O.O. of DSI Work Solutions, Inc., is a developer and practitioner
in the fields of work injury management and prevention. She has specialized in occupational
health and created many of its fundamental programs. She developed the first functional capacity
assessment, functional job description and functional pre-work screen process. Her specialties also
include functional ergonomics, disability management, early intervention and the aging worker. Her
published peer-reviewed research includes reliability of assessing functional capacity performance
and identifying predictors for return to work. She acts as a consultant to regional and international
businesses.
