From a report issued to its members, the American Association of Preferred Provider Organizations (AAPPO) provided details on new products offered to Seniors through AARP, which, in April announced that it would become a major participant in the nation’s health insurance market.

Products include a preferred provider organization and a high-deductible insurance policy that could be used with HSAs that would be available to the under 65 population. These products will be identified with the AARP name, and marketed with Aetna.

It is suggested that when the new coverage becomes available sometime next year, AARP would be the largest provider of private insurance to Medicare recipients through its HMO. This product will be marketed with United Health Group.
