With an eye toward the upcoming Olympics, much can be learned about team sports and the success to be achieved by setting goals and working as one in order to achieve those goals. When individual talents come together, it creates an enormous amount of energy and momentum.
Within a practice setting, teamwork creates the efficiencies and cohesiveness that are critical to the success of the practice. Working toward building - and maintaining - a true sense of team requires time, but is time well spent.
Team building events come in various scenarios. They don’t have to be expensive because the rewards of taking the time to interact, evaluate, and have some fun with your colleagues outweighs frustrating in-office situations. And, to help you, there is a Preferred “Encore” selection designed to give you the resources to conduct various team building activities. This seventeen page selection entitled “Team Building Manual” includes exercises that are simple and fun, easily incorporated into a staff meeting or a stand-alone office event.
We encourage all of you to consider hosting a team building activity-- at least once a year. You really will be pleasantly surprised at what types of unrecognized talent you have in your office!
