SPEAKERS FOR PREFERRED’S TACTICAL CONFERENCE TO ADDRESS MARKETING, CONSUMER DRIVEN HEALTHCARE, HIPAA, AND WELLNESS PROGRAMS
Phoenix, AZ, April 3, 2006 – Preferred Therapy Providers, Inc. (Preferred), the
largest centrally managed contracting and marketing resource for private practice physical, occupational,
and speech therapy clinics in the United States, announced that key healthcare industry executives will be
on hand to discuss current marketing trends including consumer driven healthcare, HIPAA, and Wellness
programs.
J. Stephen Ashley, Senior Vice President, Client Consulting Services for UltraLink, has built a career
developing innovative solutions throughout the healthcare supply-chain. Mr. Ashley is responsible
for providing customers with a wide range of consulting services, directing UltraLink’s procurement
services and overseeing the account management function. Mr. Ashley has frequently been a speaker
in the healthcare industry and has published numerous industry articles. Mr. Ashley’s topic,
“Consumer Driven Healthcare from the Payor Perspective,” will provide insight into this
growing trend.
Bill Maloney is the Chief Technology Officer for the Health Care and Group (H&G) Benefits
practice at Mercer Human Resource Consulting (Mercer). He is a member of the global and US H&G
management teams. He joined Mercer in 1994 from United Health Care where he was a vice president
responsible for information systems for two of United’s divisions. Mr. Maloney’s
topic, “The Nuts and Bolts of CDHC” will define Consumer Driven Healthcare and how it
will affect specialty providers as it continues to be rolled out to plan members.
Michael R. Costa is a Senior Associate in the Health Business Practice Group of the 1500-member
international law firm of Greenberg, Traurig, LLP and focuses his practice on healthcare and non-profit
corporate matters. As part of his health law practice, Michael counsels various health care providers
regarding contractual, business and regulatory matters. He is a frequent lecturer before hospitals,
medical practice groups and legal associations on both regulatory and transactional healthcare issues
and has published extensively in these areas. Mr. Costa’s topic, “"HIPAA
2006: An overview of the new national Provider Identifier Standards and compliance update,"
will give audience members insight regarding provider standards in order to comply with the HIPAA
guidelines.
Marketing, Wellness programs, and IT solutions will be discussed by key players in the rehab
industry during Preferred’s roundtable sessions. Speakers include: Susan
Isernhagen of DSI Work Solutions, Inc., and Jennifer Gamboa of Body Dynamics, Inc.
